I am an author of children’s books, poet, and nationally celebrated voice-over talent. I have also been a non-profit development professional who spent two decades as an advocate and fundraiser for persons with disabilities.
My life experiences inform my work. I have published more than a dozen children’s books in India and the United States, including the award-winning Indi-Alphabet (Mango and Marigold), Prince with a Paintbrush: The Story of Raja Ravi Varma (Westland) which rapidly became part of the national zeitgeist in India when film star Amitabh Bachchan used the book as a clue on Kaun Banega Crorepathi, It’s Time to Rhyme, (Aleph) which won Publishing Next’s Best Book of the Year Ages 8+ in 2023
My poems and stories explore themes ranging from the environment to idiomatic expressions and have been widely recognized, anthologized, and adapted. I am a regular speaker on panels and a frequent guest at Literary festivals. I have been featured on radio and TV, profiled in magazines, and one of my stories was dramatically performed by Silicon Valley Shakespeare, California. My first book for adults, Good Innings (Penguin), has been translated into Malayalam.
In 2022, I won the prestigious National Film Award in India for Best Voiceover, Narration, for the film Rhapsody of Rains- Monsoons of Kerala.
